Feeling SAD in the Winter?


If you're feeling sad, blue, or depressed you're not alone. Seasonal affective disorder many of us during the winter. One of the reasons is the decrease in light during the winter and we adjust our outdoor activities due to the cold weather. Some people may experience overeating, feeling sad, feeling tired, and feeling less energy. There are several things you can try to lift your mood and energy. The first is by exposing yourself to light through a Lightbox designed to increase your dose of light. You can also go outside on sunny days and open your curtains or blinds to increase your light. If you find you are feeling depressed you may want to talk to your family physician or talk to a therapist who can provide you with some self-care ideas.
